How to apply for a tourist visa to visit Cuba

You may apply in the following two ways:

Ø  IN PERSON

You will be required to provide:

·         A completed, signed and dated Tourist Visa Application form.

·         A current passport (minimum 6 mths. validity). Photocopies are not allowed.

·         1 recent passport size photograph.

·         A flight Itinerary (schedule of flights).

·         A health insurance certificate or proof that you have health insurance cover.

·         The name of the Hotel where you will be staying. For homesteads and other types of accommodation, the name and full address is required.

·         A Money Order or Bank Cheque to pay for the visa fee ($AUD60.00). Cash is also accepted.

·         A self addressed registered or express post envelope, if you want your travel documents posted to your preferred address.

Note: Normal processing time is one week. Urgent applications (within 24 hours) attract an extra fee of AUD40.00

Ø  BY MAIL OR COURIER

                You must send:

·         A completed, signed and dated Tourist Visa Application form.

·         A current passport (minimum 6 mths. validity). Photocopies are not allowed.

·         1 recent passport size photograph.

·         A flight Itinerary (schedule of flights).

·         A health insurance certificate or proof that you have health insurance cover.

·         The name of the Hotel where you will be staying. For homesteads and other types of accommodation, the name and full address is required.

·         A Money Order or Bank Cheque to pay for the visa fee ($AUD100.00). Cash is also accepted.

·         A self addressed registered or express post envelope, for the safe return of your travel documents.

vAustralians, New Zealanders and most European citizens require a visa to visit Cuba.

vA Cuban visa is granted as a loose leaf document. The loose leaf document is not attached to the passport nor is the passport stamped. The visa does not have an expiry date but once you enter the country you will be allowed to stay for 30 days. For more than 30 days an extension may be granted by applying to the immigration authorities in Cuba.
