Founded in Jakarta, the Association of Friendship Indonesian-Cuba

In solemn act, celebrated in the faculty of medicine of the University of Jakarta, it was created the Association of Friendship Indonesian-Cuba (AAIC), May 15, 2008. 

The Professor Samsuridjal Djauzi, President of the AAIC, has delivered the words of opening of the act, in which he offered an extensive view of the objectives of the Association of Friendship and he explained that is open for all those who were interested in being member of the Association and to contribute to the strengthening of the friendly and brotherhood relationship which exist among the Indonesian and Cuban peoples.  Besides, it referred to its several visits to Cuba and explained briefly its experiences, as well as he did a brief characterization of the development of the health system in Cuba. 

In her speech, the Diplomatic Attaché of the Cuban Mission, Mayra Nieves, offered a detailed explanation of the development of the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Cuba, as well as she thanked the opportunity that has been offered to our Medical Teams that have unfolded the supportive humanitarian assistance to the brother Indonesian people during the tsunami of Banda Aceh in the 2004 and the earthquake of Yogjakarta in the 2006. 

Also she recognized the decisive support of the authorities of Indonesia in the foundation of this important Association of Friendship, in which can be appreciated like a significant stimulus to work arduously in continue tightening the friendly and fraternal relations that exist between both peoples and governments. 

And the Cuban Diplomatic Attaché finalized its intervention desiring successes to the future work of the AAIC, with the conviction and confident that it will be maintained a growth of its membership that will contribute to the consolidation of the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Cuba. 

Subsequently, the Dr. Arief Wiranto, offered to the more than 200 professors and present university students in the act, a magisterial Conference on the Biotechnology in Cuba and upon finalizing he were responded the diverse questions of the assistants, all which contributed to a greater diffusion of the system of health of Cuba and an updating of the achievements of its investigators in the pharmaceutical and biotech sector. 

The event counted also with the presence of businessmen and executives of the biotech sector linked to Cuba and other members of it founded Association of Friendship Indonesian-Cuba.
